Breast Surgery
Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure that helps women to have proportionally improved breasts, this may mean that after surgery the breasts may be larger and firmer in their appearance.
Breast augmentation is completed using a general anesthesia and is usually performed on an outpatient basis, though a 1-night stay in hospital may be required. An incision is made in the breast and a saline or silicone breast implant is then inserted. This surgery usually takes 1-2 hours.
Another option for breast augmentation involves removing fat from one part of the body and injecting it into the breasts, usually fat is taken from areas such as the abdomen or thighs.
The recovery time from breast augmentation is usually a few days of rest post-operatively with normal activities being resumed within 2-3 days and normal activities being resumed 3-4 weeks post operatively. Gym or weight lifting exercises will normally be reduced at 6-8 weeks, the surgeon will provide a personalized post operative recovery plan.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy) is a surgical procedure used to correct drooping or sagging breasts and to help reshape and lift the breasts and improve their fullness and appearance. This surgery will remove excess skin and tighten up the supportive tissues in and around the breast region. This procedure is not a breast reduction, although a breast reduction may occur with a breast lift. Another procedure that may be completed during a breast lift is asymmetry correction, a procedure that helps to align the size or shape of the breasts. A compression garment may be required post operatively to enhance the outcome of the surgery.
