Face and Neck
Facelift
A Facelift (Rhytidectomy) may help reduce the signs of aging in the face and visibly reduce sagging, deep creases, wrinkles and lines and help with muscle tone loss which may cause jowls or fatty deposits under the chin or around the jawline. At times, a facelift may be combined with other procedures such as eyebrow lists or eyelid surgery, or a neck lift. Other techniques such as laser resurfacing of the skin or skin brightening may be done to help rejuvenate the look of the face and neck skin.
Depending on the skin quality or the amount of sagging a surgical consult may result in the client having nonsurgical treatments, or a procedure known as a min-facelift but a consultation is required to determine which is appropriate. A traditional face lift is often an outpatient procedure but a general anaesthetic is required and a 1-night hospital stay may be recommended.
After a facelift it takes several months for the full amount of bruising and swelling to go away and up to 4-6 months for the surgical incisions to heal. Post-operative care will be ongoing and clients are instructed to stay out of the sun to help maintain the surgical results. Incisions are usually along the hairline and can often be covered by the hair, the surgeon will always try to be discreet with incision placement.
