Partial Knee Replacement

Partial (unicompartmental) knee replacement resurfaces only the damaged compartment of the knee and preserves the healthy bone, cartilage and ligaments around it. It suits patients whose arthritis is confined to one side of the joint, and it is carried out through a smaller incision than a total replacement.

Recovery is typically quicker, the knee retains a more natural feel, and the option of a full replacement later in life remains open.
